SUPER SHUTTER SERIES
AR400 ‘HDF’ Slat Profile.

OZ Roll has been producing the AR400 slat profile with high quality and continuous regularity since 1996. This well accepted and robust slat profile has proved the test of time and is now offering a solid platform for the development of the HDF profile. HDF is the abbreviation for “High Density Foam” which offers some remarkable advantages for the roller shutter curtain when used in the correct application.
For a visual identification aid we have slightly dyed the foam, which makes for easy identification. The HDF is injected into the slat profile during the roll-forming process under very controlled conditions.
Due to the high volume level the foam is injected, we actually reduce the speed of roll-forming to about a quarter of the speed that we run the standard profile.
The two part polyurathane chemicals are mixed together at the very last moment before being injected into the open slat section. Once the chemical is mixed a chemical reaction begins instantaneously and the foam begings to transorm from a liquid to a solid in approximately 14 seconds, reaching full rise capacity in approximatly 55 seconds. The chemical reaction generates heat and in some cases the slat profile will be over 900c at the end of the roll-former.

It is this remarkable increase in density that offers the HDF product such remarkable characteristics. The slat inserts are actualy screwed into the foam rather then being stapled as per the standard slats. The ability to screw into the foam offers the extremely remarkable strength advantage of the all new Super Shutter series
